On the Move

Mary Elise! Your dad and I are so proud of you, this past weekend you really learned how to crawl. This video shows a little bit of it, but now you are even better and are up on your knees the whole way. You really are interested in everything, especially the things you cannot have. You particularly love electronics: radios, alarms, fans, etc... You also love to stand, I didn't realize that you could scale up the ottoman all by yourself, I nearly fell over when I saw you do it. Then I dove to catch you as you were falling over. Don't worry honey, you were safe, I gotcha.

Now some pictures: You were playing with a toy after dinner and somehow managed to throw it in that glass, see it? What a shot!!!

*note Kevin's tan.

M.E. what you want to say with that face is, "Mom, it's in the bag ."

You're so cute in your flower towel. And we love bath night!
That's all for now baby girl, we are just watching you develop and are amazed at how fast you learn and how smart you are.

Teeth

M.E. you still have no teeth at 8 months! We thought you were going to get teeth early, you started teething at about 4 months (or at least it seemed). You seemed to get a little better in the last month or so. But since Friday you aren't sleeping very well and just want to be held alot. I try to feed you solids and you just want to gnaw on the spoon. Daddy and I joke a lot that whenever you're a little grumpy or not sleeping the best that "she's teething." It's kinda like a joke now. But maybe this is really it and some teeth will be here soon!

Look at that gummy smile!

Well on another note... M.E. you had a very busy weekend. You started off by staying up alot (from 3am to 6am) on Friday night and then we tried to go to your cousin's 3rd birthday. We got stuck in traffic for an hour and didn't make it very far at all. After we realized you had a messy diaper and we were gonna miss the party, we went home and all took an awesome nap! Sunday you helped your mama audition and maybe get a chance to be on her favorite game show. I don't want to get too excited incase I don't make it. But if I do, it was definitely you're cuteness that clinched me making it to the final interview- I'll tell you the whole story in another post after we find out. Then we went to your cousin's confirmation and first communion and had a 2 hour mass with the Bishop in a non- air conditioned church. Yikes! But it was worth it to see your cousin become a fully initiated Catholic- Congrats! I don't have any pictures, but others took some and if I get ahold of them will add them on.

Even though we were busy, you still had some time to hang around with daddy.

Update on milestones

M.E. you are already 8 months old, so I have to quickly update you on everything you've done.

You were born 8.9.2008 weighing 6lbs 15 oz. Mama had natural childbirth and it was tough but also amazing. I couldn't have done it without daddy though- he coached me the whole way.

Here are several other milestones you've accomplished and when you first did them (I wrote them on the calendar to remember). I have pictures of you doing some of them.

Picking your head up ~ 3 months 11.13.08.

Rolling over front to back ~3 months 11.28.08.

Rolling back to front ~4 months 12.29.08. Uncle Luke and Aunt Katy were here to witness that one.

First reaches ~ 5 months 1.30.09. You wanted a blue chip clip at the dinner table.

Sitting up with no support ~ 6 months 2.13.09.

First rice cereal ~ 6 months 2.14.09. Despite the picture you really didn't like it. It constipated you and we backed off for a while. We picked up again with carrots at 7 months.

First scoots ~ 6 months 2.26.09 You moved just a couple of inches.

First babbles /dada/ ~ 7 months 3.12.09.

Earliest form of crawl ~ 7 months 3.24.09. When you're on the bed you got up on your feet and threw your head in front of you while pulling forward a bit with your hands. You still do this now sometimes- it's funny to see. Sometimes you even try to do this while nursing...

First pull to stand ~ 8 months 4.10.09. You used part of the sofa and part of dad to pull up. You did the same thing later that day while reading a book and used the book to pull you up.

First army crawl ~ 8 months 4.16.09. Today! You were crawling all over the floor today you moved across the whole living room floor. You still like to go backwards and sometimes end up in a corner.

A Blog a what?

Ok my little M.E., mama's trying out blogging- an internet fad. I thought I could journal to you so you could look back and see some of the things we did together when you were a wee one. We'll try it for awhile and see how it goes. :) Mama's never been great at journaling, so we'll try one post per week and of course some cute pictures.

Right now I'm still trying to figure out how everything works, maybe you should try helping me.
